I returned to Kinlochard for this Altskeith autumn wedding last year. The summer was turning and the lawns were scattered with yellow and gold. The Trossachs is pretty unbeatable at this time of year if you’re looking for a romantic setting. All you have to do is keep your fingers crossed that the weather is fine.
Jennifer and Paul had obviously been doing just that. As a result there wasn’t a single drop of rain all day 😉. It was bright and warm and there was just enough cloud to produce that perfect soft flattering Scottish light. All photographers should be praying for on a daily basis!
I spent some time with Jennifer as she prepared for the wedding and popped downstairs from time to time to capture Paul and his party making sure the champagne was on ice, speeches were tweaked, button-holes fixed and guests welcomed.
Documentary photography coverage at this Altskeith wedding.
Jennifer and Paul chose me to be their photographer because of my natural documentary style and they were brilliant at ignoring the camera and getting on with the business of having a great time on their wedding day.
At most of my weddings I spend some time with the couple creating a handful of relaxed natural portraits and as the light dropped over Loch Ard we went down to the boathouse to take a few shots and give Jennifer and Paul a breather to reflect on the events of the previous few hours and soak up the atmosphere of the loch at twilight – magic moments!
It was a wonderful day with a close family vibe and a real pleasure to share their day at the Altskeith wedding.
You will see below a small selection of my favourite shots from Jennifer and Paul’s wedding day. I hope you like them.
