Wedderburn Castle Winter wedding

Winter weddings in the depths of January can be challenging to photograph. However, what they lack in light they more than make up for in atmosphere and warmth. None more than in the fabulous surroundings of Wedderburn Castle.

Combining the limited daylight and the welcoming glow of lamps, a winter wedding can be beautifully lit. Plus the subtle use of flash during the party will add to the atmosphere. My winter wedding photography will compete strongly with any summer wedding. An experienced documentary wedding photographer will capture all the fun and emotion. There’s no need for a staged portrait session with loads of posing and studio lighting.

I often use black and white in difficult lighting conditions. I love the effect that a black and white finish can have on an image. In this case your attention is drawn purely to the composition, expression and shades of light and dark. Once printed by a professional printer, the picture can be reminiscent of a theatrical still or a scene in a play. Your eye is drawn from one element to the next. Each time you look at the print you see something new.
