This is the second part of a blog post I wrote last week to show you a wonderful marquee wedding in the Scottish Borders from June 2015.
In the first blog post I covered all the preparations of the morning through the ceremony and up to the point where Jess and Neil were waved off by all their family and friends from Swinton Kirk.
I pick up the story as everyone arrived back at the house and the celebrations really started!
The big red Routemaster London bus which carried many of the guests back from the church was welcomed by a large herd of inquisitive cows. I nipped up to a first floor window to capture the scene as everyone greeted the newlyweds. Then it was round to the marquee on the back lawn for the reception and some group photos.
It was important to the couple that the group photos were somewhat “alternative” and I had ample opportunity to use the different parts of the gardens as a canvas for some really creative groups. Jess had put all her bridesmaids in different dresses made of different fabrics which were designed not to match but to complement each other – the overall effect was really beautiful.
If you are considering a marquee wedding in the Scottish Borders (or anywhere else for that matter) please don’t hesitate to get in touch to chat through your plans and see if I have your date free.
