Relaxed portraits to compliment my documentary wedding photography

Engagement shoots are something that I don’t get asked to do that often. As a wedding photojournalist most of the couples who book me are attracted by the candid and unposed aspect of my work. But natural and relaxed posed portraits are second nature to me and whether it’s an engagement shoot or a short portrait session on the wedding day, it’s another aspect of being a photographer that I love.

After 15 years working for national newspapers and magazines where much of the work was not reportage, I pride myself on being able to compose a portrait and direct the couple so they feel relaxed, natural and unforced without resorting to awkward poses or cheesy gags.
