JACQUELINE & STEPHEN’S GLENSKIRLIE WINTER WEDDING

Jacqueline and Stephen’s Glenskirlie winter wedding took place on a chilly dark day in February in the warm, cosy, intimate surroundings of a modern day castle.

I have photographed a few weddings at Glenskirlie, both in hot bright summer weather as well as on windy cold winter days and the venue works just as well for either. With a documentary wedding photographer, you don’t have to get outside to get great pictures! Or spend hours standing around while the photographer sets up complicated lighting.

Anticipation, Excitement and Nerves

The day started with Jacqueline and her bridesmaids getting ready in the enormous bridal suite. As a documentary wedding photographer, it’s always a delight to photograph this part of the day as there’s so much anticipation, excitement and nerves. This charged atmosphere sets up the narrative for the day and is a great start to telling the story. Whether it’s watching guests arriving from the upstairs windows or going over the gruesome details of the Hen party there’s always a lot going on at this stage of the day that makes for great pictures.

The day went beautifully for Jacqueline and Stephen. It was easy to see what a close-knit bunch of friends they have and no one held back with their celebrations or “feeling the love!”. The evening doo was amazing with some high energy ceilidh dancing and I left them to enjoy the rest of their party once I had plenty of great dance-floor pictures.
