Altskeith Country House wedding in the sunshine
It’s always a great pleasure to be asked to be the Altskeith wedding photographer for any couple. I have to confess a soft spot for The Altskeith and Kinlochard in general when it comes to weddings. My wife Anna’s parents live in the village, we were married there over-looking Loch Ard and her Great Grandparents got engaged there way back in the 1890’s…. so there’s personal history in them there hills!
It’s a pretty special place. Just an hour from Edinburgh or Glasgow, halfway along a road to nowhere (actually it’s Stronachlachar!!), presided over by the massive silhouette of Ben Lomond, benignly beautiful or intimidatingly impressive depending on the weather!
An intimate gathering in the shadow of Ben Lomond
The weather could not have been kinder for Cassandra and Richard’s wedding at the Altskeith – well it was actually a week long “wed-a-thon” gathering of family from far and wide before they went off to live abroad.
The wedding day itself mixed fabulous attention to detail by a fantastic team of suppliers (details at bottom of post) with the lovely relaxed vibe that comes with a country house wedding.
And for the Altskeith wedding photographer there was just the right balance of sunshine and drama to show Scotland at it’s best – and I can’t think of another wedding I’ve been to with views of Loch and Ben from the Dance Floor! They’ve got to be some of my favourite images of the Summer, charged with emotion and affection. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Lewis!
