It was fantastic to be asked to be Cat and James’s photographer for their Western House Hotel wedding. I had had the pleasure of working with Cat on many occassions in a commercial capacity when she worked for the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. So I knew she would be a very relaxed bride and there would be a lot of fun and plenty of familiar faces.
The Western House Hotel is linked to Ayr Racecourse and Cat and James were marrying on a race day. So when I arrived there was lots going on in and around the hotel and under a gin clear sky, the atmosphere was full of expectation and excitement. From one side there was the sound of horses hooves and from the other the buzz of hair dryers drifted down from open windows as Cat and her bridesmaids made their preparations.
The day went superbly. It was very emotional and was full of tears and happiness.
